POP Seminar: Nicole Smolinski and Earl Morris, 01/06/2022

Please join us Thursday, 01/0Nicole & Earl6/2022 for POP Research seminar of the Fall 2021, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in Communicore C1-04. We will be welcoming Earl Morris, PharmD, MPH and Nicole Smolinski, Pharm.D. as our seminar speakers.

Earl is a third-year PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy program at UF, working under the direction of Dr. Vouri. He received two bachelor’s degrees (Biological Sciences and Chemistry) from Arkansas State University in 2015. After completing his undergraduate training, he attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he graduated with a Master’s in Public Health and Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2019. He joined our program in the fall of 2019, and his research interests include geriatric pharmacoepidemiology and prescribing cascades. His seminar title presented is: High-Throughput Screening with Prescription Sequence Symmetry Analysis to Discover Potential Prescribing Cascades.

Nicole is a third-year PhD student in POP under the supervision of Dr. Winterstein. She received two bachelor’s degrees in child psychology and chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 2015. She then received her Pharm.D. from Midwestern University in 2019. Her research has focused on pediatric acute otitis media as well as teratogen use during pregnancy and child-bearing age  Her seminar title presented is: Describing Medicare Beneficiaries Undergoing Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (2015-2018).
