Internship Programs & Summer Research

Faculty in the Department offer research internship experienced for individuals who are interested in pursuing further training in our field. Typically, internships are pursued by students or graduates of the health sciences or research-related fields (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics, economic) who are considering an advanced (M.S. or Ph.D.) degree and would like to get first-hand experience about the type of research conducted in POP.

Internships are usually at a minimum three months to allow the intern participation in a small research project, which should result in an abstract that can be presented at a professional meeting.

  • For students in the UF Pharm.D. program, the college offers competitive funding for a summer research internship.
  • For German pharmacy graduates and other international pharmacy graduates/students who would like to complete part of their practicum required for licensure with us. Applicants will need to provide a statement of intent, CV, letters of recommendation and proof of financial support.

Global Gators

GlobalGators was established to maintain friendships and professional interaction developed at the UF College of Pharmacy. The program was initiated by the department of Pharmaceutics, but embraces all five departments at the UF College of Pharmacy. The GlobalGator International Symposium, held biennially, allows researchers, educators and students to meet and share their work in clinical pharmacy and pharmacology.
