POP Seminar: PiaoPiao Li and Dawei “David” Guan, 02/03/2022

PiaoPiao DavidPlease join us Thursday, 02/03/2022 for POP Research seminar of the Fall 2021, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in Communicore C1-04. We will be welcoming Piaopiao Li, B.S.Pharm., M.S. and Dawei Guan, M.D., M.S. as our seminar speakers.

PiaoPiao is a second-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, with Dr. Hui Shao as his advisor. She received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and master’s degree of pharmaceutics from Peking University in China. She worked as a clinical research associate in Johnson&Johnson for two years in China. Piaopiao’s research interests lay mainly in the field of Pharmacoeconomics and health services research. Her current research interests are in diabetes, microsimulation, and econometrics method. Her primary mentor is Dr. Hui Shao. Her seminar title presented is: Using Real-world Data to Assess the Burden of Diabetes in Children and Adolescents in Florida.

David, is second-year master student of POP. He graduated with bachelor and master’s degree in clinical medicine in China. Before joining POP, he worked in surgery for several years. His advisor is Dr. Hui Shao, and his research interest is Pharmacoeconomics. His seminar title presented is: The cost-effectiveness of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors versus sulfonylureas in patients with diabetes – microsimulation in the BRAVO model.”
