POP Seminar: Cheng (Alice) Chen & Thuy Thai, Thurs 02/13/2020

Chen.Alice.Thai.ThuyAnnouncementPlease join us this Thursday, 02/13/2020 for our POP research seminar, held from 1:00pm-2:30pm in Communicore Building, C1-04.  We will be welcoming our graduate students Cheng “Alice” Chen, B.S.Pharm and Thuy Thai, M.P.H., B.S.Pharm as our seminar speakers.

Cheng (Alice) Chen joined our department as a Ph.D. student in 2015. She graduated from Fudan University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy. Her primary research focus is geriatric pharmacoepidemiology. Most of her work is related to chronic pain and prescription opioid use. Her dissertation topic is Utilization, Safety, and Effectiveness of Combined Use of Prescription Gabapentinoids and Opioids in Older Adults.  Her seminar title: Use of Prescription Gabapentinoids and Opioid-Related Adverse Events in Medicare Older Adults

Thuy Thai received her Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City in 2014. In May 2017, Thuy received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from University of Georgia. Thuy joined the POP Department since August 2017. Her research interest is safety of medication use during pregnancy. Her seminar title: Effect modification of inflammatory bowel disease on thromboembolism risk of combined-oral contraceptive
