We will be welcoming our graduate students Xi Wang, M.P.H., B.M. and Yasser Albogami, M.P.H., B.S. as our seminar speakers. Their seminar topics are listed below:

Xi Wang: Risk of Preterm Delivery and Small for Gestational Age among Women with Inflammatory Bowel Disease using TNF-alpha Inhibitors during Pregnancy

Yasser Albogami: Unmeasured Confounders in Claims Data: Quantifying Bias Reduction of Proxy Adjustment Using Data-Adaptive Methods

Xi Wang received her bachelor’s degree from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, China and her Master of Public Health in epidemiology from Emory University.  Her desire is to become a pharmacoepidemiologist, with research interests in drug safety and comparative effectiveness, especially among pregnant women and population with chronic disease, such as inflammatory bowel disease.

Yasser is a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Dr.Winterstein. His research centers on using real-world data to evaluate the drug safety and effectiveness and to assess drug policy focusing on mitigating the medication-associated harm. Yasser holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from King Saud University (KSU) in Saudi Arabia and a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California.
