The Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy proudly announces that Dr. Chintan Dave has been chosen as the 2015-16 recipient of the DuBow Family Graduate Student Education fellowship.
The DuBow Family Graduate Student Education fellowship is awarded to a graduate student to support their research and education in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. Recipients have an outstanding track record in scholarship and must be involved with research related to pediatrics. Dr. Chintan Dave obtained his Pharm.D from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2012, and joined the POP department the same year to pursue his Ph.D in the field of pharmaceutical outcomes. His current research interest focuses on refinement, and applications of statistical methods to facilitate causal inference in pharmacoepidemiology. His recent work has examined the degree of infelicitous drug use in children with epilepsy. With the aid of the fellowship, he will develop two projects that target an underserved population of children with Medicaid, who are diagnosed with epilepsy. These projects aim to quantify the disease burden of childhood epilepsy, and to identify etiologies for heterogeneity in longitudinal adherence patterns in anti-epileptic drug use.
