Her geriatric and psychiatric pharmacoepidemiology research earned Yu-Jung “Jenny” Wei, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the department of pharmaceutical outcomes and policy, a University of Florida Excellence Award.
The selection committee, consisting of faculty members from various UF colleges, were inspired by the letters written on Wei’s behalf and gratified to see the strength of her research. In the course of the committee’s deliberations, Wei emerged as being “uniquely worthy of this award.”
The award comes with $5,000 to further award recipients’ research. Wei will spend it on Medicare data to continue her geriatric studies. “I am extremely honored to receive this award as I know it’s very competitive,” she said.
