About Thuy Thai

Dr. Thai is an Assistant Scientist within the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (POP). She earned her pharmacy training at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She then received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Georgia. In the spring of 2022, she completed her PhD at the POP Department, specializing in pharmacoepidemiology. Her experience includes linking Medicaid data to state vital statistics data, which provides the establishment of rich and comprehensive data sources for pregnancy research. She also specializes in building mother-infant linkages and estimating the timing of pregnancy start date. She has developed pregnancy cohorts within automated real-world healthcare data to support valid inferences about drug effects. Her research focuses on enhancing infrastructures and methodologies and accelerating evidence generation on the safety and effectiveness of medication use during pregnancy.
