About Muhammad Bilal

Muhammad Bilal is currently working as a Postdoctoral Associate – NLP and AI at University of Florida. Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer at Sunway University’s School of Engineering and Technology and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southampton Malaysia. He also held positions as an Assistant Professor and Incharge in the Department of Software Engineering at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Chiniot-Faisalabad (CFD) Campus, Pakistan. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Tutor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Taylor’s University in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, for three years. He has more than four years of experience as a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan. Additionally, he gained practical experience as a Software Developer at Sofizar in Lahore.

Dr. Bilal earned his Ph.D. degree from Taylor’s University, Subang Jaya, Malaysia, and received a MS degree in Project Management from COMSATS University Islamabad, Islamabad, Pakistan, as well as a BS degree in Software Engineering with Distinction (Bronze Medal) from the University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan. He was awarded the Taylor’s Ph.D. Scholarship from 2018 to 2021 and has authored and co-authored several journal and conference research papers. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including natural language processing, data mining, social computing, machine learning, information processing, social media data analytics, and software engineering. Dr. Bilal has also been granted a Faculty Research Support Grant for his project titled “Detecting Mis/Disinformation and Reducing Information Overload in Social Media Platforms Using Machine Learning.”
