POP Seminar Speakers: Ping Shao, and Xuya (Rayna) Xiao 04/21/2026

Please join us on Tuesday, 04/21/2026 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2026, held from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming , Ping Shao, M.S, and Xuya (Rayna) Xiao, MHS.

Ping Shao, M.S,is a second year PhD student in pharmacoepidemiology at the POP, and works at Regeneron. Her research focuses on causal inference using real-world data, with a strong interest in study design.  My current work involves using simulations to unpack methodological questions and make them more intuitive for applied researchers.

Xuya (Rayna) Xiao, MHS, is a first-year PhD student supervised by Dr. Jiao. Her research interests are in pharmacoepidemiology. Before joining POP, she worked as a research data analyst at Johns Hopkins University for two years, where she also completed her master’s degree. She has hands on experience working with EHR data, particularly in COVID-19 and GLP-1 receptor agonist related research. Her current work focuses on EHR continuity and the comparative effectiveness of GLP-1 receptor agonists in liver disease.
