Ahmed Farrag, B.Pharm,is a 2nd-year master’s student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and a Fulbright Foreign Student Program grantee. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Cairo University in 2018 and became a licensed pharmacist in Egypt the same year. From 2019 to 2024, he served as a teaching and research assistant in the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Cairo University and gained clinical experience by serving in the government sector of medical services and working as a community pharmacist. His training includes clinical pharmacokinetics, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacy practice, and his prior research includes pediatric hepatitis C virus (HCV). His current interests focus on pharmacoepidemiology and applying AI—including NLP and LLMs—to evidence synthesis and analysis of EHR clinical notes to support medication safety and healthcare decision-making.
Khalil Kallala, PharmD, is a second-year master’s student in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the University of Florida. He earned his PharmD from the University of Monastir in Tunisia in 2022, then gained two years of clinical and industry experience and earned the Fulbright scholarship to begin his graduate studies in the United States in 2024. His research focuses on health economics, pharmacoepidemiology, and outcomes research, with an emphasis on pneumococcal vaccine policy and economic evaluation.
