Please join us Thursday, 2/20/2025 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2025, held from 11:30 am-1:00 pm in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming Wei-Han (William) Chen, M.S. , and Pareeta Kotecha, PharmD, M.S., as our seminar speakers.
Pareeta Kotecha, PharmD, M.S., Pareeta is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy, working under the supervision of Dr. Serena Jingchuan Guo. She received her MS in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at POP in 2024 and has a Doctor of Pharmacy from Manipal University, India. Before joining POP, she worked as a Regulatory Medical Writer at Novo Nordisk, where she worked on clinical trials and non-interventional studies on insulins and GLP-1s. Her work also included interaction with regulatory bodies for approval of GLP-1 RA (Liraglutide) for adults and adolescents in several countries. Her research interests include real-world evidence studies in the fields of diabetes, obesity, and devices. Pareeta’ s seminar title is: “Association Between Preoperative GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Use and Postoperative Respiratory Complications in Real- world Patients Undergoing Elective Surgical Procedures: A Target Trial Emulation Study”
Wei-Han (William) Chen, M.S., William is a fourth -year Ph.D student in the Department of POP, mentored by Dr. Guo. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Taipei Medical University in 2020 and later completed his MS degree in POP in 2023. His research primarily focuses on cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases such as type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. “Healthcare Utilization and Use of Physical Therapy among US Medicare Beneficiaries with Parkinson’s Disease”
