Please join us Thursday, 2/6/2025 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2025, held from 11:30 am-1:00 pm in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming Chloe Jian, MPH and Alaa Abdullah Alshehri, PharmD, MSc, as our seminar speakers.
Chloe Jian, MPH., Chloe is a second-year PhD student. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a Statistics track from Boston University and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Her research interests focus on the intersection of cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic diseases in geriatric populations. Chloe’s seminar title is: “Investigating the Impact of the Second-line Antihypertensive Drugs on Microvascular Diseases in Patients with Concomitant Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.”
Alaa Abdullah Alshehri, PharmD, MSc, is a fourth-year PhD student working with Dr. Svensson. I earned my PharmD from King Faisal University in 2017 and later served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University from 2018 to 2021. In fall 2021, I pursued a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, which I completed in spring 2023. My research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomic, and decision-making models for hemophilia and gene therapy. Additionally, I am passionate about improving patient healthcare access and enhancing quality of life. Alaa’s seminar title is: “Healthcare Resource Utilization and Economic Burden Among Adult Males with Moderate-severe/severe Hemophilia A and B in the United States”
