POP Seminar Guest Speaker, Kimia Zandbiglari, M.Sc and Henry Hung-Kai Chen, BPharm, MClinPharm, 1/30/2025

Please join us Thursday, 1/30/2025 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2025, held from 11:30 am-1:00 pm in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming Kimia Zandbiglari, M.Sc and Henry Hung-Kai Chen, BPharm, MClinPharm, as our seminar speakers.

Kimia Zandbiglari, M.Sc., is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, working under the direction of Dr. Rouhizadeh and Dr. Goodin. She received her bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2016. She also received a master’s in technology management from Texas State University in 2022. Her interests include Artificial intelligence in healthcare, natural language processing, and social determinants of health. Kimia’s seminar title is: “Enhancing suicidal behavior detection in EHRs: A multi-label NLP framework with transformer models and semantic retrieval-based annotation”

 

Henry Hung-Kai Chen, BPharm, MClinPharm., is a second-year PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy program, working under the direction of Dr. Winterstein. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Taipei Medical University in 2018 and then completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy at National Cheng Kung University in 2020. Before joining our program, he worked as a clinical pharmacist and research assistant in medical centers in Taiwan. Most of his prior research focuses on evaluating intended or unintended effects of healthcare interventions among patients with rheumatic diseases or cancer. Henry’s seminar title is: “Chronic Liver Disease Is Associated with a Greater Risk of Hospital Readmission in Patients with Heart Failure: A Nationwide Database Study in the United States”
