Please join us Thursday, 10/31/2024 for POP Research Seminar of the Fall 2024, held from 11:30 am-1:00 pm in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming Piaopiao Li, B.S. Pharm., M.S. Pharm, and Fanxing Du, MPH as our seminar speakers.
Piaopiao LI, B.S. Pharm., M.S. Pharm, is a fifth-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, with Dr. Hui Shao as her primary advisor and Dr. Almut G. Winterstein as her co-advisor. She received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and master’s degree of pharmaceutics from Peking University in China. She worked as a clinical research associate in Johnson & Johnson in China before joining POP. Piaopiao’s research interests lie mainly in the field of pharmacoeconomics, cost-effectiveness analysis, microsimulation, pharmacoepidemiology, comparative effectiveness analysis, and health services research. Her seminar title presented is: “Assessing the Real-world Effectiveness of the VA MOVE! Program in Preventing Type 2 Diabetes: a 10-year Follow-up Study”
Fanxing Du, MPH, is a third-year PhD student working with Dr. Jiao. She received her Bachelor’s degree of Engineering from Liaoning University in China, and received her Master of Public Heath degree from School of Public Health, Fudan University in China. Her current research interests include cardiovascular disease and cancer. Fanxing’s seminar title is: “Trial emulation of percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion (pLAAO) versus direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs)“
