POP Seminar Guest Speaker, Hsin- Min Wang, and Michael Luvera, 9/26/2024

Please join us Thursday, 9/26/2024 for POP Research Seminar of the Fall 2024, held from 11:30 am-1:00 pm in NVIDIA Auditorium (1st Floor). We will be welcoming Hsin-Min (Grace) Wang, PharmD, M.S., and Michael Luvera, PharmD, Cph, as our seminar speakers.

Hsin Min (Grace) Wang, PharmD, M.S., is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in our department, working under the supervision of Dr. Lo-Ciganic. She received her PharmD and Master of Clinical Pharmacy degrees from NCKU in Taiwan. She worked as a clinical pharmacist at NCKU Hospital and a research associate at NCKU before joining POP. Her research interest is in the field of pharmacoepidemiology, and her research mainly focuses on drug safety and utilization among geriatric populations with chronic drug use. Hsin-Min (Grace) seminar title is: “Longitudinal Patterns of Antidepressant and Benzodiazepine Use Associated with Injurious Falls in Older Adults with Depression”

 

Michael Luvera, PharmD, Cph., received Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2019 from Towson University, Towson, MD, and Doctor of Pharmacy in 2023 from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, Richmond, VA. Currently a second-year fellow in the POP Department’s Healthcare Quality, Medication Safety, and Population Health Fellowship program.  Michael’s seminar title is: Assessing Appropriateness of Antibiotic Prescribing for Urinary Tract Infections and Bacteriuria in the Outpatient Setting
