POP Seminar: Wen Wen, Jabed Al Faysal and Amirah Alnahdi

Please join us Monday 4/01/2024 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2024, held from 10:45am-12:00 pm in Room 7200, DSIT Bldg 7th Floor. We will be welcoming Wen Wen, MS, Jabed Al Faysal, MS., Amirah Alnahdi, Pharm.D., as our Seminar speakers.

Wen Wen, MS., originally from China, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy during her first year of academic study. After graduating from Chongqing Medical University, she worked as an SAS programmer for Sanofi (Beijing) pharmaceutical company until 2017. She then joined the Center for Adverse Drug Reaction of Chongqing Drug Administration where she focused on post-market drug safety reevaluation and pharmacovigilance from 2018 to 2022. These working experiences sparked her interest in pharmacoepidemiology and its applications in the evaluation of post-market drug safety. Her seminar title is: “Impact of Prenatal Exposure to Bactrim on Pregnancy Outcomes: Potential Role of Folic Acid Supplementation ”

Jabed Al Faysal, MS., is a second year Ph.D. student at the department of pharmaceutical outcomes & policy (POP). I am working under the supervision of Dr. Mahmudul Hasan. I have completed my B.Sc. and MS in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University, Bangladesh. Before joining at POP, I worked as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering Discipline at Khulna University, Bangladesh. My research interests include machine learning, medication adherence, predictive analytics and opioid use disorder. His seminar title is: “An Explainable Machine Learning Framework for Predicting the Risk of Buprenorphine Treatment Discontinuation for Opioid Use Disorder among Commercially Insured Individuals”

Amirah Alnahdi, Pharm.D., is a pharmacist graduated from King Saud University , and is currently pursuing her first year of a master’s degree in POP. Also ,she is employed at the Drug Policy and Regulation Administration within the Ministry of Health in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her seminar title is: “Association Between Biological Therapies and The Risk of Major Cardiovascular Event in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: A Systematic review and Meta-analysis”
