Please join us Monday 3/4/2024 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2024, held from 10:45am-12:00 pm in the NVIDIA Auditorium, DSIT Bldg 2nd Floor. We will be welcoming Kimia Zandbiglari, M.Sc., Julia Yang, B.Sc., and Ying LU, BA, as our Seminar speakers.
Kimia Zandbiglari, M.Sc. is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, working under the direction of Dr. Rouhizadeh. She received her bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2016. She also received a master’s in technology management from Texas State University in 2020. Her interests include Artificial intelligence in healthcare, natural language processing, social and behavioral determinants of health. Her seminar title is: “Enhanced Suicidal Behavior Identification in Clinical Notes: A Coherent Approach with NLP Transformer Models for Classification”
Julia Yang, BSc., is a second-year master’s student in POP. She majored in pharmacy and graduated from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. Before pursuing her master’s degree, she gained practical experience working in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, she is under the mentorship of Dr. Jiao and focuses on cardiovascular disease as her research interest. Her seminar title is: “The Impact of Digital Postpartum Intervention Beyond Usual Care on Cardiovascular Outcomes”
Ying Lu, BA, is a first-year master student. She earned her bachelor degree from Xinyang Normal University, China before joining POP. Under the mentorship of Dr. Guo, her research interests lie in pharmacoepidemiology and health outcome research within the field of diabetes and obesity. Her seminar title is: “Association Between Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists and Risk of Depression in U.S. Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes: A Population-Based Cohort Study”
