Please join us Monday 1/29/2024 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2024, held from 10:45 am-12:00 pm in Malachowsky Hall, DSIT Bldg. Room 7200. We will be welcoming Hsin-Min (Grace) Wang, Phar.D., M.S., and Sumaya Abuloha, BPharm, MSc. Clinical Pharmacy, as our seminar speakers.
Hsin-Min (Grace) Wang, Pharm.D., M.S., is a third-year Ph.D. student in our department, and her advisor is Dr. Jenny Lo-Ciganic. She received her PharmD degree and Master of Clinical Pharmacy degree at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan. She worked as a clinical pharmacist at NCKU Hospital and a research assistant at NCKU before joining POP. Her research interest is in the field of pharmacoepidemiology, and her research focuses on drug safety and utilization among geriatric populations with chronic drug use. Her seminar title is: “Difference in the Risk of Fall and Related Injuries among First-line Treatments in Older Adults with Depression”
Sumaya Abuloha, BPharm, MSc. Clinical Pharmacy, is a third-year Ph.D. student who joined the POP department in Fall 2021. I received my bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and master’s degree in clinical pharmacy from the University of Jordan. I have eight years of experience in academia, mainly as a lecturer and clinical preceptor for PharmD students, and I have research experience in pharmacy practice. Currently, my research focuses on cost-effective analysis, drug pricing, and payment methods. Her seminar title presented is: “Cancer Drug Price Increases Cannot be Explained by Efficacy or Certainty of Evidence Improvements.”
