Please join us Thursday, 01/12/2023 for POP Research Seminar of the Spring 2023, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in HPNP Auditorium. We will be welcoming Kelly Ma, PharmD and Yanning Wang, MS., as our seminar speakers.
Kelly Ma, graduated from Florida International University in Miami with a Biology degree and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to pursue a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Florida. During her 4th year of pharmacy school, she developed a passion for medication safety and applied for UF College of Pharmacy’s Healthcare Quality, Medication Safety, and Population Health Fellowship. Some of her current roles as a fellow include providing medication information and safety perspectives to clinical personnel and overseeing medication and vaccine use at UF Health outpatient practices. Her faculty mentor is Dr. Scott Vouri and her seminar title is: “Clinical Practice Guidelines and Recommendations Implementation in Ambulatory Health Care settings”.
Yanning Wang, is a second-year PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy program at the University of Florida, where she is advised by Dr. Winterstein. Prior to beginning her PhD studies, Yanning received her master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Florida in 2015. Since then, she has worked as a data management analyst in the College of Medicine. Yanning’s research interests include evaluating the impact of drug policy on population health and understanding inappropriate prescription drug use. Her seminar title is: “Targets for quality improvement? Top 10 teratogenic drugs used during pregnancy in the US”.
