POP Seminar: Earl J. Morris and Shailina Keshwani, 09/15/2022

Earl & Shailina 9/15/2022Please join us Thursday, 09/15/2022 for POP Research Seminar of the Fall 2022, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in Medical Sciences Building 6120. We will be welcoming Earl Morris, Pharm.D., M.P.H. and Shailina Keshwani, B.S. Pharm., B.A.S as our seminar speakers.

Earl, is a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, working under the direction of Dr. Vouri. He received two bachelor’s degrees (one in Biological Sciences and one in Chemistry) from Arkansas State University in 2015. He also received a Master’s in Public Health and PharmD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2019. His interests include geriatric pharmacoepidemiology, prescribing cascades, and inappropriate prescribing. He recently completed a summer internship at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Institute working in the Sentinel Operations Center under the supervision of Dr. Judy Maro and Dr. John Connolly.

Shailina, is a fourth-year PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Smith. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Mumbai University, India and worked as a research analyst at WNS global Services, India. She then received her BAS in Health administration from College of Central Florida, US and worked as a Pharmacy technician for a year. She completed her master’s degree from University of Florida Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy in 2021 where her thesis topic focused on removal of prior authorization policies related to buprenorphine prescribing for the treatment of opioid use disorder.                                                                         Currently, her area of research interest is pain medication use in patients with hypertension.
