POP Seminar Guest Speaker/Faculty Candidate: Mikael Svensson, PhD on 03/10/2022

SvenssonPlease join us Thursday, 03/10/2022 for POP Research seminar of the Spring 2022, held from 11:00am – 12:00pm in Communicore building, Room C1-04, or via Zoom. We will be welcoming  Kaj Mikael Svensson, Ph.D. as our seminar speaker.

Dr. Svensson (Ph.D., Economics, 2007) holds a position as Professor of Applied Health Economics at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. Dr. Svensson is also a lead health economist at the Center for Health Technology Assessment at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, which is one of the largest hospitals in Northern Europe. Previously he has worked at Economics and Public Health departments in Sweden, and he has had visiting positions at the Centre for Health Economics (York, UK), Toulouse School of Economics (France), and Williams College (US). Dr. Svensson’s research is primarily in the fields of comparative- and cost-effectiveness analysis of health technologies and pharmacoeconomic methods development. His applied research projects are based on a range of different empirical study designs – including evaluations alongside clinical trials, causal inference using observational registry data, and decision modeling using secondary data sources.

His seminar title is: “Sources of uncertainty in pharmacoeconomic evaluations and ways to address them.”
