POP Seminar: Celeste Ewig, M.S., PharmD and Wenxi Huang, MS 02/24/2022

Celeste & WenxiPlease join us Thursday, 02/24/2022 for POP Research seminar of the Fall 2021, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in Communicore C1-04. We will be welcoming Celeste Ewig, M.S., Pharm.D., and Wenxi Huang, M.S. as our seminar speakers.

Celeste, is a first year PhD student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes working under the mentorship of Dr. Winterstein. Prior to joining UF, she was a Senior Lecturer, Experiential Learning and International Exchange Program Coordinator at the School of Pharmacy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong where she also held concurrent honorary appointments as Senior Pharmacist at the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. Celeste is a Board-Certified Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPPS). Her current research direction aims to apply perinatal and pediatric pharmacoepidemiology approaches to improve outcomes associated with the use of medications in children. Her seminar title presented is: Can we translate the No Child Left Behind Act to medication use? A pharmacist’s quest from the United States to Hong Kong and back.

Wenxi, is a first-year Master student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, with Dr. Jingchuan Guo as her advisor. She received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from South China University of Technology in China. She then completed her master’s at Florida International University, majoring in Chemistry and Information systems. Wenxi’s research interests lay mainly in the field of pharmacoeconomic and health services research Her                                                                             seminar title presented is: “COVID-19, Race/Ethnicity, and Health Disparities – A Geographic Information System Analysis.
