POP Seminar Guest Speaker: Yongkang Zhang, PhD on 10/30/21

Yongkang ZhangPlease join us Thursday, 09/30/2021 for POP Research seminar of the Spring 2021, held from 11:00am – 12:00pm in Communicore, via Zoom. We will be welcoming  Yongkang Zhang, PhD as our seminar speaker.

Dr. Yongkang Zhang is a research associate in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on understanding patient, health system, and social characteristics associated with healthcare utilization, quality, and outcomes. He specializes in applying econometrics and statistical methods, and more recently, machine learning methods, to analyze large healthcare datasets to inform care delivery and health policy. His research has published in Health Affairs, JAMA Network Open, and other top health policy and health services research journals. He received his PhD in Health Policy and Management from Tulane University.

Dr. Zhang’s seminar title is: Last Wishes? Using Predictive Modeling to Dissect Medicare Spending at End of Life in the US.”
