UF Health invites applicants for AI faculty positions

Successful applicants will join the University of Florida’s Artificial Intelligence, or AI, Initiative (https://ai.ufl.edu) aimed at advancing the university to a national and world-wide leader in the application of AI. This initiative is supported by a $70 million initial investment and implementation of the most powerful AI supercomputer in higher education in the world, as well as the hiring of 100 new faculty members, including an initial 17 faculty members in the UF Health Sciences. UF Health is the largest integrated academic health center in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, with over 2,400 faculty.

Applicants for positions in AI-powered healthcare decision making and precision health will specialize in predictive analytics, risk stratification or causal inference methods to develop evidence and tools for decision support in clinical and other public health settings. Applicants will have expertise in the use of large healthcare data and focus on a variety of priority areas. This includes pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical health services research and other related areas in clinical, policy and economic healthcare decision-making. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in the health sciences, computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.

Successful applicants will join a cross-college network of AI researchers grounded in the values of Trustworthy AI, Community, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Faculty members hired through this initiative will be appointed in departments throughout the UF Health colleges.
