Please join us Thursday, 02/18/2021 for POP Research seminar of the Spring 2021, held from 11:45 am-1:15 pm in Communicore, Room C1-04, or via Zoom. We will be welcoming Phuong Pham, M.S. and Munaza Riaz, Pharm.D., M.Phil. as our seminar speakers.
Phuong Pham is a fifth year PhD student at POP and her advisor is Dr. Brown. She was trained as a pharmacist in Vietnam and received a Master of Science of Public Health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. Her research interest is pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety and she has been working on projects related to anticoagulants and antidepressants. Her seminar title presented is: “Association of Oral Anticoagulants and Verapamil or Diltiazem with adverse bleeding events in patients with atrial fibrillation and normal renal function.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Joshua Brown.
Munaza Riaz completed her Pharm-D and M.Phil (Pharmacy Practice) from Lahore College for Women University, Lahore, Pakistan. She did her residency in clinical pharmacy at Children’s hospital, Lahore Pakistan. She joined Institute of Pharmacy, Lahore College for Women University, Lahore, Pakistan as lecturer in 2013. She was awarded Fulbright PhD scholarship in 2017. Her seminar title presented is: “Effectiveness of Sacubitril/Valsartan Versus Aldosterone Antagonists in Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Haesuk Park.
