Please join us Thursday, 02/11/2021 for POP Research seminar of the Spring 2021, held from 11:45 am-1:15 pm in Communicore, Room C1-04, or via Zoom. We will be welcoming Ziyan Chen, M.S. and Motomori Lewis, B.S., as our seminar speaker.
Ziyan Chen is a fifth-year PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy Program (POP). She earned her bachelor degree at Sun Yat-sen University with a major of Bioscience. She has a master degree in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine from University of Southern California. She joined POP in 2016 and earned a master degree in 2018. Now she is working with Dr. Diaby as a PhD student on projects that cover the topics of burden of illness, healthcare resource utilization, and economic evaluation of cancer therapies. She is interested in using real-world evidence in pharmacoeconomic modeling and developing frameworks to assist healthcare decision making.
Her seminar title presented is: “Real-world Treatment Patterns Associated with Palbociclib for Women with HR+/HER2- Metastatic Breast Cancer in SEER-Medicare data.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Karam Diaby.
Motomori Lewis received her Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City in 2014. In May 2017, Thuy received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from University of Georgia. Thuy joined the POP Department since August 2017 and is currently a4th year Ph.D. student under supervision of Dr. Winterstein. Her research interest is medication safety during pregnancy.
Her seminar title presented is: “Trends in mortality and healthcare resource utilization among hospitalized patients with sickle cell disease, 2010-2018.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Karam Diaby.
