POP Seminar: Seonkyeong Yang & Thuy Thai on Thurs, Feb 4, 2021

Please join us TSeonkyeong Yang Thuy Thai Announcementhursday, 02/04/2021 for POP Research seminar of the Spring 2021, held from 11:45 am-1:15 pm in Communicore, Room C1-04, or via Zoom. We will be welcoming Seonkyeong Yang, M.S., B.S.Pharm and Thuy Thai, MPH, B.S.Pharm, as our seminar speaker.

Seonkyeong Yang  is a 2nd year Ph.D. student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. Before joining the POP, she worked at the Pharminent Pharma intelligence company as an analyst in the US and worked at the Regional Pharmacovigilance Research Center as a research pharmacist in South Korea. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy at Marmara University in Turkey and earned her pharmacy degree from Pusan National University in South Korea. Her areas of interest are drug safety, medication adherence as well as migraine management.  Seminar title presented is: Trends in the Management of Headache in US Emergency Departments: Analysis of 2007-2018 NHAMCS Data.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Jenny LoCiganic.

Thuy Thai  received her Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City in 2014. In May 2017, Thuy received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from University of Georgia. Thuy joined the POP Department since August 2017 and is currently a4th year Ph.D. student under supervision of Dr. Winterstein. Her research interest is medication safety during pregnancy.  Seminar title presented is: Development and Validation of Algorithms to Estimate Stillbirth Gestational Age in Medicaid data.” Her mentor/advisor is Dr. Almut Winterstein.
