Please join us Thursday, 11/19/2020 for POP Research seminar of the Fall 2020, held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm in the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy Building Auditorium (Room HPNP 1404) or via Zoom. We will be welcoming, Ching-Yu “Jessie” Wang, B.S. and Yushi Huang, Pharm.D. as our seminar speakers.
Ms. Wang is a fourth year Ph.D. student in our program under the supervision of Dr. Brown. She received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan and her master’s degree from our program in 2019. Her research interest lies in pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research specific in cardiovascular diseases and oncology. She also has a special interest in leveraging real-world data to enhance clinical trial data. She is currently working on topics related to biosimilar for her dissertation. Her presentation title will be: “Biosimilar in the United States: The case of filgrastim”.
Ms. Huang obtained her PharmD degree in 2018 from the University of Florida. She is now a third year Ph.D. student in POP under the supervision of Dr. Diaby. Her research interests are health economics and outcomes research. Her disease area of interest is oncology, especially immunotherapy in lung cancer. Her long-term research goals involve the continuous development and appropriate distribution of healthcare resources, especially in how economics influence healthcare stakeholders’ choices in healthcare in the real world. Her presentation title will be: “Healthcare Resource Utilization Analysis on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Patients with Metastatic Lung Cancer using Claims Database”.
