The American Association for Cancer Research, or AACR, has awarded Sabina Nduaguba, Ph.D., a postdoctoral associate in the department of pharmaceutical outcomes and policy, a Minority Scholar in Cancer Research Award.

Nduaguba evaluates racial/ethnic disparities related to cancer among people with HIV. “AACR has provided inspiration for formulating research questions related to cancer health disparities as well as an avenue to meet scientists specializing in cancer health disparities research,” she said.

The AACR minority scholar in cancer research award traditionally serves as a travel grant for participants to attend the AACR conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved. The grant instead covers the cost of the 13th annual conference, held Oct. 2-4, as it is virtual.
