Scott Martin Vouri, Pharm.D., Ph.D., an assistant professor in the department of pharmaceutical outcomes and policy, was recently selected to the U.S. Deprescribing Research Network, or USDeN, Junior Investigative Intensive Program.
USDeN, which is funded by the National Institute on Aging, provides dedicated support and research learning opportunities to help early-stage faculty succeed with their deprescribing-related research and advance their research careers. Vouri uses the organization’s services and resources to assist in conducting research related to the detection, prevention and mitigation of prescribing cascades, or using new medications to treat adverse events of current medications, in older adults.
The 2020-21 junior investigators are the organization’s inaugural cohort and includes 15 physician, pharmacist and nurse investigators from the United States, Canada, Australia and Denmark.
