We will be welcoming our graduate student, Aram Babcock, and Post Doctoral Fellow, Silken Usmani, as our seminar speakers. Their seminar topics are listed below:

Aram Babcock:  Overview of Current Works

Silken Usmani: Effects of Hydrocodone Rescheduling on Opioid Prescribing Outcomes: A Systematic Review

Aram Babcock is a 3rd year POP student. Received PharmD, MBA from University of Rhode Island. Registered Pharmacist for 10+ years working in retail setting. Areas of interest include pediatrics, Pharmacoeconomics, and health policy.

Silken Usmani received her Bachelors of Science in Biology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 2014, and she went on to complete her doctorate of pharmacy degree at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA in May 2018. She moved here to Gainesville after graduation, where she started her current role as a post-doctoral pharmacy fellow with University of Florida Health Physicians and the UF College of Pharmacy. She is a member of the UFHP Clinical Safety Committee and the Quality & Patient Safety Team, where she provides education and support to over 40 outpatient clinics. She is currently involved with researching the outcomes of opioid policies on patient care and on the potential effects of prolonged medication recalls on prescribing patterns.
