The UF College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy welcomes Cheng “Alice” Chen and Ziyan Chen as our January 31st, 2019 POP research seminar presenters.
Alice Chen joined our program in 2015 and is currently a 4th year Ph.D. student in POP. She graduated from Fudan University in China in 2014 with Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. She’s interested in the use and safety of prescription opioid and adjuvant analgesics among older adults.
Ziyan Chen is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy Program (POP). She earned her bachelor degree at Sun Yat-sen University with a major of Bioscience. She has a master degree in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine from University of Southern California. She also earned a master degree from POP department in 2018. Now she is working as a Ph.D. student on projects that cover the topics of healthcare resource utilization and economic burden of diseases, economic evaluation of cancer therapies. She is interested in using real-world evidence for pharmacoeconomic modeling and developing a framework to assist healthcare decision makers in dealing with “real world” data and information in “real world” health care decision-making.
