POP Seminar Announcement: Sascha Wegmann

The UF College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy welcomes Sascha Wegmann as our September 27th, 2018 POP research seminar presenter.

Sascha received his degree as a licensed pharmacist in Germany in August 2012, after his study of pharmacy at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Dusseldorf, Germany. Post-graduation, he worked for two years as a registered pharmacist in a community pharmacy in Cologne, Germany. He joined the Ph.D. program at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at UF in Fall 2014. His research interest includes pharmacoepidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic studies in the area of infectious diseases and cancer. In his dissertation he focuses on drug use, healthcare resource utilization, and drug safety in patients with advanced melanoma. For his Master’s thesis he analyzed treatment initiations in hepatitis C patients, how an HIV co-infection influences initiation rates, and the financial burden the therapies cause for patients and payers.
