Olihe Okoro, doctoral candidate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, has been awarded the 2012 Dissertation Completion Award from the Sherri Aversa Memorial Foundation. Okoro’s distertation is on “Antiretroviral Medication Adherence Behavior of African American women living with HIV/AIDS: Investigating the Influence of Perceived Patient-Centered Care and Observational Learning.”
The award is named for Dr. Sherri Aversa, a 1994 graduate of the University of Florida, and is presented annually for student research that focuses on health behavior, access, or quality of health care among persons living with HIV/AIDS and /or substance abuse. The Sherri Aversa Memorial Foundation’s mission is to encourage social and behavioral science researchers to continue the work Dr. Aversa began in these fields.
