POP Seminar Announcement: Chao Chen and YoonYoung (Stella) Choi

The UF College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy welcomes Chao Chen and YoonYoung (Stella) Choi as our September 19th, 2017 POP Seminar Presenters.

Yoonyoung Choi received her pharmacy degree and her Master’s degree in Therapeutic Pharmacy from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She joined as graduate assistant at the University of Florida in 2013, pursuing the Ph.D. program in the department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the College of Pharmacy. She worked as Vaccine Medical Science Liaison at MSD Korea, as clinical pharmacist at a local pharmacy, and completed several clerkships during Master training including the Drug Information Research Institute, National Assembly in Korea. Yoonyoung’s research interests focus on safety and effectiveness of drugs/vaccines, and the economic evaluation of medical interventions.

Chao Chen is a PhD candidate majoring in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical science from Fudan University in China and entered in the Ph.D. program at UF since 2012. He is interested in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics research using large healthcare database, especially applying advanced statistical model to address time-varying covariates in longitudinal data. He is working on his dissertation of retrospective database studies on the treatment for inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including treatment disparity of IBD, effectiveness of combination therapy of biologics and immunosuppressants and safety issues of narcotics use among patients with IBD.
