The Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy welcomes Dr. Rahul Sasané from Novartis as our POP Seminar Guest Presenter for February 15th, 2017.
A pharmacist by training, Rahul Sasané currently serves as the head of the field-based Health Economics & Outcomes Research team at Novartis’s US Oncology division. Prior to his current role, Rahul was Executive Director in the Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HE&OR) function at Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ General Medicines Division
A graduate from The University of Texas at Austin, Rahul has over 20 years’ experience in the global pharmaceutical industry, primarily in the global health outcomes/economics, strategic global market access, pricing & reimbursement space. Prior to his current stint at Novartis, Rahul has also worked at AstraZeneca, Shire, and Bayer Pharmaceuticals. He has broad experience working with a variety of stakeholders in the healthcare delivery space from patients to caregivers, regulatory agencies in the US & EU, healthcare organizations, patient advocacy groups, and national health systems in the ex-US markets.
Rahul specializes in the adoption of innovative & rigorous scientific methodologies to influence the clinical evidence architecture and is especially passionate about integrating patient-reported outcomes in relative value demonstration and for market access. He has led successful efforts to include patient-reported outcomes endpoints in clinical trials and securing such evidence in a drug label.
Aside from his full-time role at Novartis, Rahul continues his association with academia by serving on doctoral dissertation committees and providing research guidance to graduate students. He has presented at national and international meetings and published extensively in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
